We were recently asked to carry out a full en-suite renovation for a client in Cornwall. The existing en-suite was tired and dated — the old suite needed to go and the client wanted a fresh, modern look throughout. Here’s how we transformed it from start to finish.

Stripping Out the Old En-Suite

The first job was a full strip out — removing the old suite, tiles, flooring and existing light fittings. We take care to protect the rest of the property during this stage, laying dust sheets throughout and removing all waste responsibly. Once the room was back to bare walls and floor we could properly assess the space and plan the new layout.

New Tiling Throughout

The client had chosen a beautiful large format tile for the walls and a complementary floor tile to match. We prepared the walls and floor carefully before laying the tiles — good preparation is everything when it comes to a clean, level tile finish. All joints were grouted neatly and the finished tiling completely transformed the feel of the room.

New Vanity Furniture with Built-in WC and Sink

The centrepiece of the new en-suite was a stylish vanity furniture unit with a built-in WC and integrated sink. This type of furniture gives a really clean, contemporary look — no exposed pipework, everything hidden neatly behind the unit. We fitted and plumbed the unit carefully, ensuring everything was level and all connections were watertight before finishing.

Illuminated Mirror

The client had chosen an illuminated mirror to finish the wall above the vanity unit. These look fantastic and add really practical lighting for the sink area. We wired and fitted the mirror neatly, making sure all electrics were properly connected and safely finished.

New Lighting Throughout

The existing lighting in the en-suite was a single ceiling fitting that left the room feeling dark. We replaced this with new recessed LED downlights throughout the ceiling, giving the room a much brighter, more modern feel. All lighting work was carried out safely and in compliance with bathroom zone regulations.

New Flooring

To finish the floor we laid a complementary floor tile that tied together the whole room. Laid on a properly prepared sub-floor with consistent grout joints throughout, the finished floor looks clean, professional and will last for years.

The Finished En-Suite

The transformation was dramatic — from a tired, dated en-suite to a bright, modern room the client was absolutely delighted with. The whole project was completed within the agreed timeframe and budget, with minimal disruption to the rest of the property.
