The Problem – A Cold, Damp Bedroom That Needed More Than a Lick of Paint

This bedroom had all the tell-tale signs of a room that had been neglected for too long. Cold walls, damp patches, and poor insulation made it uncomfortable year-round. The client needed a complete refit – not just cosmetic work, but a proper solution from the walls out.

Dry Lining, Metalwork & Insulated Plasterboard

The first step was tackling the root cause of the cold and damp. We installed a full dry lining system, complete with a metal stud framework and insulated plasterboard. This creates a thermal barrier between the cold external wall and the living space, dramatically improving warmth and preventing condensation from forming on the surface.

This type of work is often overlooked but makes an enormous difference to how a room feels – and how much it costs to heat.

Full Plastering – A Smooth, Perfect Finish

Once the dry lining was in place, we fully plastered the room from top to bottom. A clean, smooth plaster finish is the foundation of any great-looking room, and it’s something we take real pride in getting right. No shortcuts, no skim-over-artex – just a proper job.

New Lighting & Radiator Installation

A bedroom refit is the perfect opportunity to upgrade the electrics and heating. We fitted new lighting to modernise the room and improve ambiance, and installed a new radiator to complement the improved insulation. With the dry lining and a properly sized radiator working together, the room now holds heat efficiently and evenly.

Decorating – Paint & Feature Wallpaper Wall

With the room prepped, plastered, and primed, we moved on to the finishing touches. The room was fully painted, and one wall was given the feature wallpaper treatment – a popular choice that adds depth, character, and a real focal point to a bedroom without overwhelming the space.

Bespoke Handmade Wardrobes – Built to Fit

The finishing touch – and arguably the most impressive part of the project – was the construction of two bespoke, handmade wardrobes. Built specifically for this room, they maximise the available space and are finished to complement the overall décor. Unlike flat-pack alternatives, these are built to last and tailored exactly to the client’s needs.
